Two years in the making...

A little over two years ago, Theresa and I were enjoying a weekend together at the beach . . . just the two of us! Time away for the two of us is something that doesn't happen very often, but when it does, "grown up" conversations seem to happen spontaneously. On a normal basis, these grown up conversatinos have to be scheduled!

Anyway, we were enjoying lunch in a little burrito bar on a Saturday afternoon and a "grown up" conversation broke out. We began to talk about "our story". You know what I mean, we all have a story! It's the story of LIFE! Unlike a story that you find in a book that has a beginning and an end, the story of LIFE is continually developing. Each day is a new page and each season of life, a new chapter. We don't really know what will happen as the storyline continues!

As we continued talking about our story, we talked about the "characters" that are found on the pages of our story. We have been blessed with the opportunity to meet lots of people as we have walked this journey. We both agreed that the people that we have met along the way have helped make us who we are today because we were able to learn from their life experiences and share life with them.

With all of that in mind, the conversation turned to the new season in our own life . . . new doors that the Lord was opening for us right before our eyes. We had just moved to a new community, accepted a new ministry position, and began to build friendships with our new faith family. However, it seemed that at every turn, we were having an opportunity to share "our story" with people from all walks of life.

The end result of that "grown up" conversation was the idea of starting a blog. Our own little place out in cyberspace to tell our story! When the conversation ended, we weren't sure when it would happen, what it would look like, who would write, or even what we would share. We just left the idea on the table and allowed the Lord to continue to work.

So . . . Here you have it, the first post of our new blog that has been two years in the making . . .
